Garrett Feck is a graduate from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Feck has performed with numerous ensembles at UK including Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band, Philharmonia, Wildcat Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Horn Choir, and Wildcat Wind Quintet. During his summers at UK he has performed at the Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and even marched a DCI season with the Bluecoats. Outside of teaching music Mr. Feck enjoys swimming, traveling, running, photography, and playing with his dogs!
The band is split up into instrument sections. Some sections are large like the trumpets or clarinets. Other sections can be as small as one player like the oboe. Choosing your instrument is important. When testing instruments band directors look for many factors like musical aptitude and body composition to help narrow down the selection process. After instrument testing at WJMS you will be asked to narrow down your top 3 instruments you would like to learn. With careful consideration and balancing you are assigned a section to begin your musical journey!
